It's on, it's off, it's back on again.

The raging rumour mill has Cowtown back on the list of tour stops for Kanye West and Lady Gaga's upcoming road trip.

While the two were in talks to come to Cowtown sometime in November before bailing in July, word is Kanye and Gaga are now coming to Calgary for real.

Stay tuned to Six for the official announcement... That's one pair of hip hop heavyweights that are sure to sell out.

Lots of shakeups in the local radio scene this summer…

Just as The Coach will be leaving Lite 96 after 15 years come January, word on the street is that the seasoned Buzz Bishop – recently let go from Vancouver’s Virgin Radio 95.3 – will be taking over for Freeway Frank at Energy 101.5, who was given the axe on Friday.



Frazier from the station formerly known as FUEL 90.3 is off to a morning show in Victoria at the end of the month, while the new AMP 90.3 remains dj-less. Well, in the morning anyway. Don't get us started on the new afternoon drive show...

Ah... it's the Sun's Club Crawling femme fatale Kassy Rodriguez, hangin' with Fall Out Boy lead singer and Ashlee Simpson hubby Pete Wentz after his DJ set at the Vinyl Retro Lounge on 10 Ave. S.W. Thursday night...




Speaking of famous married DJ's, the man we known and love as 'The Coach' from Lite 96 will not only be tying the knot to his beloved Lorelei Piotto at Hotel Arts tonight, but he'll be leaving Don and Joanne after 15 years as morning show co-hosts behind come January 31.


Time to wave goodbye to Coach on the right...

Only time will tell whether he'll go back to being Jamie Herbison or stick to his title as Calgary's favourite 'Coach'...

Four FUEL dj's fired today...

Yes, the station that can't seem to stick to a format for more than five minutes (ok, make that months), abruptly let go of Ross and Frazier from the Breakfast FUEL morning show, as well as Mel Risdon and Jerhett Schafer from the afternoons today. This after canning program director Murray Brookshaw a few weeks ago.

Expect another new format to be unleashed in the very near future.. Will that make for three formats in three years?? Glad they gave everyone a chance to get into the last one before pulling the plug..


Meanwhile, over at CJAY...

The tall ship known only as 'Russman' has taken over as music director at CJAY 92. No pressure there.. mind you - it's a format that would take a donkey to screw up. Rock, rock and more rock.

Go Russman, go. Great guy.


Finally! Nirmala Naidoo's CBC debut...

That's right, after a 15-year career at Global Television, Nirmala's CBC evening news anchor duties begin Monday night at 6 p.m.

It's a bit of a coup for the government-funded broadcaster, and part of their supposed 'CBC Re-Vamp...'

Is that similar to the GM Re-Vamp? Will there be taxpayer-sponsored TV commercials telling us all about their brilliant new vision too??

Word on the street had men's mag favourite Megan Fox in Calgary this weekend, hoping to have a low-profile bevy at V Lounge on 8 Ave. S.W. come Friday night.

The party crowd had their eyes peeled for the Transformers bombshell, but alas she was a no-show.

Rumour mill on Saturday had her publicist saying she'd be calling into a local radio station at 1 p.m. to apologize for bailing on excited Fox fans, but 1:00 came and went with no Megan to be heard for miles around.

Very interesting indeed.
